For this project, I designed a recipe booklet called "Healthy Food for Growing Kids". The booklet is aimed at parents and young children, and the goal was to make cooking an engaging, educational and fun activity.

Color Palette: The color palette consists of bright joyful colors to appeal to children, at the same time as they match the characters that I have illustrated.
Typography: It is playful, yet legible for children. The different typographies add together to make a more playful look on the booklet, while at the same time keeping it legible for children to read.
Theme: For my booklet, I made it into a storyline, where the children can help the characters save the recipes from monsters. This will help engagement throughout the recipes, and keep the fun theme of the booklet.

What I have learned
This project taught me how to convey a book's themes with symbolism and composition. I got to experiment with the different Gestalt principles, and really understand how they could be used to showcase a theme in a striking way. I also understood the importance of negative space, as well as choosing the right color palette, and how much they can influence the mood of the design.
